Creating a new host ⭐
The first step in this quick guide would show you how to add the system you want to monitor as a host.
  1. 1.
On the left, choose Dashboard or Hosts.
  2. 2.
    Choose the ADD HOST button.
  3. 3.
    Enter the name and description.
  4. 4.
Add tags for the host as needed. By adding tags (like location:Europe) you would be able get an overview on the dashboard of the hosts that have the same tag. For details, see Using the dashboard.
  5. 5.
Depending on how the monitoring data would be obtained, choose one of the following:
    • If data would be obtained by directly via Internet, enter the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or the IP of the system.
    • If data would be obtained by an agent you install on the monitored system, choose Inside OS Monitoring with Agent.
    • If data for this system would be obtained via a data collector installed in your internal network, choose Intranet host behind firewall and select the data collector that would be used.
  6. 6.
    Set visibility and alerting:
    1. 1.
Dashboard visibility If you need the monitoring data for this host to be shown on the default dashboard, choose Show on the default dashboard. You can switch off this option whenever needed.
    2. 2.
Alerting If you need the host to be ignored by alert rules, choose the Mute alerting option. This way CloudRadar would not create alerts and warnings for the host.
  7. 7.
    Save the new host.
After you added the host it is time for the second step - set the checks for the newly added host as described in Adding a host check.
